A Chronological Journey
 - 1938: Born in Tapah on the feast of St. Nicholas – 6th December
- Received primary and secondary education at Sultan Yusuf School in Batu Gajah
- 1955: Entered the minor seminary
- 1958: Formally started priestly formation in College General, Penang
- 1964: Ordained as priest on 10th May. Served as assistant priest at church of St. Louis, Taiping
- 1965-67: Posted to Church of St. Francis Xavier’s, Penang
- 1970-72: Parish Priest at Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Silibin, Ipoh
- 1974: Completed studies in Masters in Moral Theology (Ethics) at the Lateran University, Rome and upon return, became a lecturer in College General, Penang
- 1978: Appointed Rector of College General and served two terms
- 1989: Received a Masters in Guidance and Counselling from the La Salle University, Manila, Philippines
- 1989-95: Parish Priest at Church of the Nativity, Butterworth
- 1 April 1995: Appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Kuala Lumpur
- 4 October 1995: Episcopal Ordination in College General, Penang
- 24 May 2003: Appointed Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur
-20 December 2005: Conferred Panglima Jasa Negara award, which carries the title of Datuk, by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. |
